Google and Specialized Bikes have joined forces on a new contest. They're looking for interesting new ways of channelling pedal power. It's called Innovate or Die.
I guess it all contributes to the climate-change debate and maybe it will make people think more about the way they use energy (at a stretch). However, I'm not sure about the rather alarmist title of this promotion or indeed whether it will actually solve much. Somehow, I wonder if Specialized would be better off spending their time and money on persuading people to use recognised applications of pedal power ie. ride to work
Upon reflection, I feel I was to kind to Google and Specialized in my original post. This campaign is absurd. This kind of misguided crap will only damage the green cause. I hate it.
